db-ONE from Metro One Telecommunications, Inc. (database extraction for high-speed access)
Platforms: Windows NT, Solaris
Price: contact vendor for price
URL: http://www.db-one.com
Extracts data directly from relational databases such as Oracle, Informix, Microsoft, etc. through the ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) interface. db-One can also read data directly from a fielded flat file.

db-One parses all the data and creates a compressed Metro Data Format (MDF) file. If the contents of a relational database are transferred and rebuilt into the db-One database, the MDF file contains both the data and search indices combined. Optionally, just the index can be created, adding powerful full-text search capability to your relational database.

The db-ONE's search engine can be accessed from Java applets and applications, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Visual C++ and any other development environment which supports Active X/COM. With a powerful full text search engine that supports Boolean, wildcarding, fast prefix, radius, numeric and phonetic searches, db-ONE is constructed to provide subsecond data retrieval solutions for Internet directories and catalogs, as well as electronic commerce and VAR applications that require high-speed access.
