DTV SoftCoder is a software-based MPEG-2 encoder for TV and movie studios, video production companies, and video editing equipment providers. It encodes Standard or High Definition digital video for VCDs, DVDs, Web servers, and other digital media with better picture quality than other software-based approaches, while significantly improving compression efficiency and data bandwidth.

DTV SoftCoder also produces up to a 20% bit-rate reduction in the resulting bitstream and order-of-magnitude decreases in computation and memory bandwidth compared to traditional software implementations.
