OmniCast delivers information such as video, audio, software and large data files to hundreds of thousands of sites quickly and efficiently. OmniCast takes advantage of StarBurst's proven Multicast File Transfer Protocol (MFTP), which guarantees delivery for one-to-many file transfers over all network infrastructures.

OmniCast's distributed, multi-user interface enables users to define, view and manage data file transfers from anywhere in the network, including lights-out data centers. OmniCast also eliminates repetitive, time-consuming tasks with integrated features including: a utility for scheduling transfer operations; a file launcher for automatically invoking procedures at remote sites; packaging tools for organizing, bundling and managing files and directory structures; a compression utility to make transmissions more bandwidth efficient; and monitoring and diagnostic tools for observing transfers in process, reviewing past transfers, and troubleshooting problems. OmniCast can also send information, such as close-of-business data, from thousands of remote sites back to central servers for overnight job runs and other processes.
