Description:
The COMPstation model U2300 has two, 300 MHz processors with 2 Mb of
external cache per processor; the U1300 has one processor. Both
configurations include a standard 128 Mb of memory and a 4 Gb hard drive
that can be expanded to 2 Gb of memory and 18 Gb disk storage. The Solaris
2.5.1 operating system is pre-installed. There is a choice of an MGX
graphics accelerator for full-motion video and 24-bit applications or a
Turbo GX graphics card. A 20-inch monitor is included. Other features
include a 128-bit UPA slot, a 64-bit slot for Creator graphics cards, four
SBus slots, two serial ports, one parallel port, a 100-BaseT Ethernet
interface, Fast Wide SCSI-2, a 12-speed CD-ROM drive, and CD-quality,
16-bit audio. Both include symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) as a standard
feature. The U2300 has performance ratings of 12.3 SPECint_95, 20.2
SPECfp_95, 219 SPECint_rate95, and 254.0 SPECfp_rate95. The U1300 is 12.1
SPECint_95, 15.5 SPECfp_95, 110 SPECint_rate95, and 142.0 SPECfp_rate95.
