A desktop Fibre Channel storage enclosure. Designed as a high performance JBOD (just a bunch of disks) desktop storage enclosure, the CR8DF delivers scalable and affordable Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) performance, making it an ideal cross-platform storage solution for high-end graphic, multimedia, color publishing, document imaging, digital video and broadcasting environments.

Featuring a 9-inch by 12-inch desktop footprint, the CR8DF 8-bay mini-tower enclosure features a cable-less, passive dual Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) backplane the provides the maximum level of fault tolerance and performance (up to 200MB per second). The highly scalable enclosure supports up to eight 9GB or 18GB disk drives, offering up to 144GB of desktop storage per enclosure. For maximum scalability, the CR8DF supports 126 devices per loop and over 2TB of storage, which is more than sufficient to meet the most demanding storage needs for any host environment. For increased performance capability, the CR8DF enclosure design includes additional cooling and power capacity, as well as increased rail stability to support both the 7,200 RPM and high-speed 10,000 RPM disk drives.
